Got this yarn in the first store we went to on our Louisville yarn-store-a-thon. It just screamed "Christmas Scarf" to me. The white center is velvet and the two textured outer edges are variegated, ranging from champagne to drk cranberry. It's very stretchy and quick to knit (but watch for snags). I made up a simple pattern on the fly, but I just found that the Crystal Palace site has a very close variation on it plus another. Here's mine:
Crystal Palace Trio (nylon/poly, 55 yds/50 gr) - two balls of (aptly named) Candy Cane-White ($7 ea). I had a little left over - you might get away with one by using bigger needles and fewer CO stitches.
CO 12 on US15, *K 2 rows, K 1 row, wrapping each stitch twice, K 1 row, dropping extra wrap*.
